What can be said about this masterpiece that has not been said already. This 12 inch as well as the full length album is the Highlight I.M.O. of Masters at Work's careers. Pure deep bliss as can ever be and probably wont be done again. I remember reading that after Louie Vega heard George Benson Jammin as he always does, they had to change the whole song to go with what George was doing. True house heads can enjoy and listen to the full 15 min version and truly enjoy what will be to this author and D.J.s, pure heaven.

Here's a goodie import. Years ago I would go to the usual spot, what I would call a vinyl gold mine, called "The Record Pool". The man in there knew alot. You can beat box and he'll ask you which you prefer the import or regular 12"? Opened or unopened? Anyway, one day I walk in to grab a few of some great Freestyle/House vinyls he had searched and held for me and he tells me he had something I'd like. He played the Original Club Mix. When I heard the bass part I said "OOooooooh shhhhhh!!" Grabbed it as well. This track is hot. HOT. The sun ain't even that hot. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, lol. Hope my pics of the label come out fine. Couldn't find any that I liked online. Instant Moment, Enjoy V V famssss!!

Cynthia- Cynthia

Dance/freestyle artist Cynthia began her career in 1987, shortly after mentioning to fellow up and coming freestylist Safire her desire to give music shot, who in turn helped hook her friend up with several auditions. One such try out was with producer Mickey Garcia, who was so impressed that he recommended that his boss at MicMac Records check out Cynthia's talents. Shortly thereafter, she was signed to a five year contract. In the ensuing period, Cynthia issued a pair of albums -- a self titled debut which featured such singles as "Change on Me," "Endless Night," and "Thief of Hearts," as well as Cynthia II, which spawned the singles "Love Me Tonight," and a duet with Johnny O, "Dream Boy/Dream Girl." 1995 saw the release of The Remixes, which contained reworkings of her best-known tracks.

Despite a fruitful relationship with MicMac, Cynthia declined to record any more albums for the label, sensing that she should branch out into other musical styles (she correctly felt that freestyle would soon decline in popularity). By the mid-'90s, Cynthia decided to put music on hold momentarily as she returned to school (to pursue a degree in nursing), but ultimately returned back to music. After being introduced to producers Joey Gardner and Tony Moran, the duo signed Cynthia to the Tommy Boy label. Her first release on her knew label, the single "How I Love Him" (which included a cameo from K7 ) signaled that Cynthia's music was going into more of a club music direction, resulting in another single -- a 12" titled "Like a Star," which featured remixes by Todd Terry. Although Cynthia was rumored to be working on an all new album with "Like a Star" serving as its title track, the album never materialized and little has been heard from her since. 2001 saw the release of the 12-track collection, Cynthia's Greatest Hits

Busy Weekend & A Stressful One Coming Up! :-\

Just to let everybody Know I’m going to be real busy for the next few days, I’m going over a friends house today to get music for a wedding that I’m doing on Sunday which I’m working really hard on playing the right music because it’s a all African-American wedding and it’s the first one I ever do. I’ve done wedding parties before but it’s always been a mixed crowd. Tomorrow I have to meet with them for their rehearsal practice also. So I have to be there to make sure that the instrumentals and song they selected for their ceremony is long enough for their walking in. Saturday I’m planning on buying some powered speakers for the wedding I need something portable that can fit in my car. I have some other speakers but they’re too big for my car and I would need someone else to help me take them and I’m tired of doing that so I’m going to buy some powered speakers. I’ve been receiving a lot of emails lately and I’m going to do my best to answer them during the day if you guys are going to send me 12’s to post they will get posted next Monday, if I have a chance during the weekend then I will post a couple. Mateo & Matos have proven time and again they've got musical spirits like few others in the house scene. In the summer of '85 (believe it or not) John Mateo was spinning whole sets over the airwaves of his CB radio. It was through this self-produced show that Eddie Matos first made contact with John Mateo. They became friends quickly and partners soon after. They have been inspired by listening to Larry Levan, Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone and Little Louie Vega. From '86 through '89, Mateo & Matos performed at a staggering number of club festivals and old school block parties in the tri-state area of New York. In late 89 they started producing and have released numerous E.P.s and singles from then until now on many record labels throughout the world. They've since torn up dance floors spinning in over thirty countries. You can find their unique New York soulful sound in dozens of original productions and remixes on record labels such as King Street, Defected, Nervous, Large and Glasgow Underground. A special thanks goes out to Alex Noyz for this contribution! This was a slept on House record here in the US but big in the UK when it was released back in 1988. Frankie Bones used to play this at the all night house party on Hot 97. He was the only DJ bringing out a lot of the UK and European house music back to the states. Great record!
