Alright Guys I just created a New Blog & I kept it to myself about it for some time and I figure I would surprise everyone about it today. Its called "Old Radio Mixtapes Vault" This blog that I created will feature only Old School Radio Mixes and DJ Mixes from the 70's,80's & Early 90's! Most Radio mixes will be from the old Hot 97, 92 KTU, 103.5, 98.7 Kiss Fm & More... The Reason why I made this blog just for mixes so that It can attract people that also have mixtapes that they would like to share. I read forums with people asking other's where can they find old school NYC Radio Mixes to download? Well this is going to be the blog that will have it! And just like Vinyl Vault I'm hoping to get alot of attention for this blog and it will also bring traffic to Vinyl Vault. Stare at this picture for alittle while before you go to sleep and see if you will have nightmares..lol When I first saw The Exorcist I couldn't sleep well for days...what a disturbing movie. Well I was trying to get creative with this very short mix i did. I picked out old school house tracks that I though have that halloween feel. Towards the end I threw in an industrial track from Front 242 if you never heard of industrial music I recommend you check out Front 242 albums great stuff! Well here it is! Today I'm in freestyle mode for some reason instead of the Halloween mode...so I'm posting this one hit wonder from this Classic Freestyle group "Solid". One of my favorite songs from this label. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this but when I was like 17 years old I got a chance to go to the studio where Micmac was being produced. I went with my older brother BFiggy because at the time he and a couple of his friends was trying to produce a couple of local freestyle artists like Triad & Jessica Eve, They both got record deals in the later future but on different labels for one song. Jessica Eve has that hit "Shiny Disco Balls" Produced by Who Da Funk both artist are from my hometown. Well I think my brother wanted to see what Micmac was all about and it was a pretty cool experience. The 2 guys that did the engineering did not look in anyway like they were into freestyle music. One of them look like Axel Rose of Guns N Roses and the other look like Bob Vila from the old Home improvement show "This Old House"...lol. At the time at the studio we were hoping to maybe see Johnny O or Mickey Garcia but they weren't there. We also found out how they got the name Micmac but I can't really remember....I think it had to do with eating Big Macs so Mickey was the guy that came out with the name with his name Mic and combined it with Mac. Ok I just digged this Tape out of my attic somewhere between crates of records and I also found a shit load of other mix tapes that I'm going to rip. I get excited when I find tapes or vinyl that I haven't seen in awhile! lol. Well I brought this tape back in 1996 when sonic groove was opened in Manhattan and right across the street was vinyl mania. I actually went to the store just to buy a mix tape that day and Frankie bones was working behind the cash register and I asked him if he had any new tapes with Techno or House. So he hit me off with this one which he made like 2 days ago live in London UK. And if your a fan of Frankie Bones style and music selection this tape is a must! He just rips it all the way thru...! He got some great Techno tracks in here...Now just to let everyone know that I haven't seen this tape posted anywhere at ALL in any site, blog, or P2P sharing programs. So I can say that I'm the first person to post this up! This is very RARE...Sorry that I don't have a track listing for this, I might know 2 tracks off my head from this tape.
