Vinylvault Update....

Just to let everyone know Rob has stepped down from being an admin to the blog, he has lost the interest of it and feels that it's dying down. I personally don't blame him, he's worked really hard to make the blog better and to get everyone more active; but it looks like it isn't working...I also think that by making the blog private, messed us up. We went private to protect ourselves of all the legalities of it. If I open the blog up, I'm afraid we might get screwed. It's a no win situation. Rob said that he''ll stick around with the blog and share on occasions. I spoke to him earlier and thanked him for all that he did with the blog, he helped me with it and helped build vinlyvault to what it is today. I will continue to have the blog active but will not be able to post everyday for reasons being I have a lot of other stuff I have to take care of. These next few days I'm going to do some thinking and see what I can do with the blog but if it gets worse then I might just close it. Feel free to post your comments and thoughts about the whole situation and if anyone has any ideas on how to make the blog better, feel free to share your ideas.---12inchjunkie

Damn. Well, before I'm off to bed and start the week off looking forward to work (sarcasm). Just want to say I knew somehow this would come up. You know: "should a blog close" and such. Now don't take that the wrong way. It's just that it seems to be the norm on alot of forums or blogs after a while any have been open. I for one have not lost interest. I like it here. However I do come home from work and all I want to do is chill out. Who doesn't? Lately I haven't been able to do much because I'm in the process of finding Pre-K school for my daughter AND a kindergarten for next Fall for her. So that alone is stressful. One question for the vault and that is: Where has the ''love'' gone to present the great music we love in House/Freestyle/Dance etc gone that was mentioned in the beginning? That includes not only the sharing of the file but any experiences or the history (if any) of the song/artists/writers etc. Whether it be a few of us that do come and visit and say a few words? I haven't lost interest in that. Just today I happen to want to kick my PC. It froze and didn't want to start up and what have you and so it began my detox feeling that I may be without the 'net for awhile, lol. Glad it was most of the day and not longer. I don't know. I wouldn't shut down the blog. Give it some time. Things sometimes have to just slow down in order for it to pick up again. Email me if any help is needed as I've said before. Maybe a shuffle or two of posting days you have in the week will help? House twice, classic and/or today's House with another day in the week for postings. Well, I'm about to go hit the sack. daughter not feeling well and I'll probably not sleep well too, lol. I sill like the blog. Wouldn't want for it to close. So again whatever it helps and I can help just Holla and I'll do the best to try make some difference. Peace out and g'nite. Oh, and happy Monday. Here we go again, lol.

What's up fellas, let me set something straight with everyone. I know who has been a big part of the blog and do not want to offend anyone. I really appreciate the love you have given to to the blog and like 12inchjunkie has stated, I do not expect everyone to comment on every post or contribute daily. The matter of the fact is that the regulars are the only one doing something with the blog. We've cleaned house numerous times and have also stated, "twice" if anyone knows of anyone who would like the blog and would like to be part of it, by all means drop me or 12inchjunkie an e-mail. I never received and e-mail. 12inchjunkie and I would have loved to make the blog bigger and more interactive BUT as it turns out, it didn't happen. I will not deny that when we first had the blog opened, I was annoyed at the fact that people were downloading and not saying anything, that was one of our reasons for going private. We also discussed about the blog getting shut down because we were posting full 12"s and could get sued and what not. It's a no win situation, really. We have 27 members and like I discussed with 12inchjunkie, I have about three members who will not drop comments or just stop by and not even grab anything, they're lives are busy. He also mentioned it to me. We have 27 members and out of 27, 10 is the most that comment on the blog. We have regulars that drop comments but we also have some that drop a line here and there when they can. I notice that. So what can we do, kick the ones who aren't participating in anyway out? What will that accomplish? They weren't saying anything anyway so if they get kicked out, we won't notice it anyway because they weren't saying anything in the first place. You see where I'm coming from, no win situation. So now it becomes 20 members instead of 27 but guess what, nothing has changed. The comments hasn't increased because the people we kicked out weren't saying anything anyway. I have chatted with 12inchjunkie and summonedknight about future endeavors on a personal "live" level but at this point of my life, I see 12inchjunkie and summonedknight starting it off. The only way I see myself jumping into it is if I wake up one morning and say "fuck it, let me just spend 3K on new equipment and not worry about the consequences." I know majority of you aren't aware of this but I'm unemployed, I've been unemployed since July and was suppose to start work this past week. Unfortunately the way things are right now, there was a hiring freeze on the position I was suppose to start. I told 12inchjunkie that I was ready to spend about 1500 on new equipment thinking I was going to get back on my feet. Thank god, I never did it. 12inchjunkie and summonedknight, my heart is there and will always be there but like I've stated before, I have to take care of myself, right now. Fellas thanks for being part of the Vinyl Vault Family, trust me, I really appreciate it. I'm not one to get comfortable with someone, unless I've seen them face to face. I'll still be around but not as frequently as before. Sorry for the long as comment but I thought I'd let you hear my mind...Enjoy your week,
Rob.

No don't close the blog. This a great blog.Isee the blog is been averaging about 90 posts a month, which is great.I think a couple things need to be tweeked. 1.The people who dont contribute have to be let go.2.There's thousands of Chicago,New York,Detroit,Miami,House,Garage, Techno,Freestyle heads online with records collection that are willing to share as long as they get something in return. And there is literally everyday I see new people discovering and sharing there records. We just have to find them and invite them. This blog is only going to get better guys and it won't happen over night it will take sometime we can't give up.

Hey guys this blog won't die.Just like House will never die.Look how House along with Hip Hop dominate pop music. As much as I dislike House and Hip Hop from 99 on I got to give them credit they took over pop music. So Rob you will find your interest again.I think I belive it was Sunday School said it best House Is A Feeling.
